Claymore Manga Review
“The time is medieval, the remains of humanity grapple with paranoia and death. The word 'Yoma', spoken in horrifying whispers, creates a clear visual in everyone's mind: monstrous creatures with a great hunger for human flesh. " (Excerpt from MAL) Claymore is perhaps the only solution to escape from the Yomalar, which is a great threat to humanity. These half human, half Yomalar, who can use Yoma energy with their silver eyes and magnificent swords, are a group of women only. These beautiful warriors who fight to save people have an upsetting limit, the more Yoma energy they use, the more they stop being "human" and become "Yoma". The genre is action, adventure, horror, fantasy, shounen and it is a 159 episode manga.

Claymore was a series that attracted my attention in terms of subject matter. I especially enjoy reading dark elements in manga, but the trouble with many dark series is that I cannot connect with the first episodes. Like many other series, Claymore had the boringness of the first part, but I did not want to leave Claymore while I was reading because of the perfect atmosphere that immersed me. When the main events started, I gave up my sleep and fell into the perfect flow of the series.

The characters were very compatible with the series in general. In keeping with the manga's atmosphere of solitude, perhaps even silence, they were quite cold, as a result the series consisted of half-people with no feelings or needs. Another thing I liked about the characters was that it showed that even in this coldness, love and compassion can be found; Of course Claymore is a dark series, although sadly, we see some responsibilities and paid results over these feelings.

If I were to write about the drawings, the drawings become much more important, at least for me, since there is no element that stimulates the hearing in manga compared to anime. I would never say that the drawings in the series were bad, even some pages were so detailed that I wanted to engrave every corner of the pages in my brain. However, in general I cannot put it under the heading "Manga I Will Remember With Their Drawings". On the other hand, there have been many times that I have not been able to track the transitions between panels and scenes. Of course, there are many personal reasons for this: the screen you are reading, your habit of reading manga, maybe even whether you are full at the moment.

Another issue I would like to address is the general form of the manga. As I mentioned in the drawings, I had a lot of not being able to follow and later realized that the drawings are not the only reason. There were many times that I could not comprehend in the events-based progress, and sometimes the mangaka could not show us what they felt. I came to the shore of quitting from time to time, but when I took a small break and waited for my exam weeks to end, and continued to read, everything settled better. Yet many times I said, “What is this? Where did that come from? " I gave the reaction. Personally, even if the series is in your hand, it cannot flow in your brain for a short time or sometimes it causes blockage of events. Although this "Oh, it was bad, let me not read it then." Although his style can cause thought; Please keep in mind that this may not be the case for everyone, maybe I was not able to concentrate as much as I needed. Also, Claymore is one of my favorite manga especially because of some of his arcs. Although I cannot love every event and sometimes I cannot connect; The times I enjoyed great pleasure with editing were much more than when I had difficulty perceiving.

Claymore was a manga that I enjoyed reading, although I sometimes thought that some scenes were unnecessary and I couldn't follow it. It was a series where I could feel the atmosphere and connect with the world, even if not with the characters. If you are looking for a series that you can go into, have a dark atmosphere, that will make you excited while reading and have sleepless nights, but also if you are good at following panels, Claymore is a manga I can recommend to you endlessly!
